I started working on the idea that maybe I could hang them off of screws but what I really needed was a neat old piece of wood to make this really work. I headed out the barn because I thought of the perfect old sign that I had spotted out there! I added screws spaced out along the bottom of it to hang the binder clips on and I was in business!

First thing I thought of first was function: I hated having to move all of our yard furniture every time we mowed so I wanted something our furniture could sit on. Like many old houses that cling on to their original fixtures the wind howls through the gaps in the old doors and the windows rattle. To minimize the draughts, I make my own DIY draught excluders for both my doors and windows. They are made by upcycling old jeans. I also added a bit of humour to them by stenciling on a pun or two.
