This is a really easy and inexpensive way to make gifts bags. Once you make a gift bag out of wrapping paper, you’ll wonder why you didn’t think of this sooner or at least hadn’t tried it before! Plus, it’s the perfect way to wrap all those awkward shaped or hard to wrap gifts. How to Make Gift Bags from Wrapping Paper
Supplies:
- Wrapping paper
- Scotch tape
- Ribbon
- Hole punch
Instructions:
1. You’ll need a piece of wrapping paper big enough to wrap around your gift and then a little extra.
2. Fold your paper in half so that the edges are overlapping and tape the edge. This will be one of the sides of your bag.
3. With the taped seam in the middle, fold the bottom of the wrapping paper up about 2/3 to 3/4 of the way up the paper.
4. Then you’ll open up the bottom that you just folded up and fold down each side in a triangle so that the seams overlap.
5. Tape the seam.
6. Open up your bag. The long taped seam will be on one of the sides and, of course, the bottom seam will be taped.
7. You are now ready to insert your gift into your bag.
8. Insert your gift in your bag.
9. Fold down the top of the bag.
10. Punch two holes in the folded top portion of the bag. {You could also simply tape the top of the bag closed.}
11. Insert ribbon through holes and tie in place. You could also punch a hole in a gift tag and run the ribbon through the gift tag hole prior to tying the ribbon.
There you have it! I hope you found this how to make gift bags from wrapping paper tutorial helpful. I’ve already put this to great use over the holidays.
