Have you ever wanted to know how to make homemade lotion? Well here is a quick and easy recipe that your skin will love! Make it for yourself or gift it to someone special!
Hi everyone! I’m Lisa from Life on Merlin, and I am so excited to be the newest member of the Kenarry Creative Team! Today I am going to share with you how to make homemade lotion. This recipe only has a few ingredients and is quick and easy to make.
This lotion makes a perfect gift for any holiday. It is also great for a housewarming present or a teacher appreciations gift. People love to get anything homemade. They don’t have to know how easy it is to make!
I decided to start making some of my skin care products a few months ago. I am careful to watch what I eat and try to get exercise, but I never really thought about what I was putting on my skin. Many moisturizers and cleansers have chemicals in them, and I don’t really like that. So….here is what I came up with!
Here’s What You Need:
- 3/4 cup of unrefined Shea butter – soothes, hydrates and balances skin
- 2 tablespoons of coconut oil – delays the occurrence of wrinkles because it contains antioxidant Vitamin E, which protects skin cells from damage over time
- 10 drops of frankincense essential oil – benefits dry skin
- 10 drops of lavender essential oil – has natural soothing properties
Here’s How to Make Homemade Lotion:
Put the Shea butter and the coconut oil into a mixing bowl and beat it until it is light and fluffy.
Add the frankincense and lavender essential oils.
Blend with the mixer again.
Scoop out the mixture and put it into a container. I got this container at a craft store, but any small jar will work.
That’s it! I told you it was easy!
I think you will really love the feel of this lotion. I like to use it at night before bed because it is a little heavy. I also like to put it on my face before taking a shower. The hot steam helps it get into my skin and just feels amazing!
As I mentioned before, this makes a wonderful gift. Here are some labels in different colors if you would like to label your jar.
This homemade lotion is great for hands, face…the whole body!
