Learn how to easily make a dry erase menu board for your kitchen using a picture frame. It’s a useful organization idea and looks great as home decor too.

Hi guys! I’m Meg from Green With Decor, where I blog about home renovating, decorating and DIY projects. I’m excited to be back at Kenarry today!

I have such an easy little DIY to share today that should help keep your weekly menu more organized.  My husband Kalen and I usually plan out our meals for the week before he goes to the store each week so we have all of the ingredients for whatever we need on hand.

Sometimes we write the list on a piece of paper and stick it on the fridge, and other times, we would write the list on the same paper as the grocery list and then it would end up in the trash.

It doesn’t seem hard to remember 3-4 meals you just planned for, but sometimes by the time the end of the week rolls around, we’d have no idea what else we were planning to make for the week.

Until I made this:

How to turn a picture frame into a dry erase menu board

Here’s how I made my own DIY dry erase board. It’s so easy! Just follow these steps.

Supply list:

Steps

#1 Paint Your Frame

This was an old frame I’d had in the basement for a while. Last summer, I painted it and then added some glaze to it. It was a fun little project – you can read about adding glaze to painted pieces here.

#2 Cut Your Scrapbook Paper To Size

I laid the glass on top of the paper and cut around it so the scrapbook paper would easily fit behind the glass.

#3 Write On the dry erase board

Dry erase markers come right off the glass without a problem, so write away.

I was planning to use the black and blue marker, but the blue was hard to read against the green, so I stuck with black.

I love green, white and black together, so it worked out just fine!

It’s the perfect way to keep our menu for the week organized, and isn’t organization even better when it’s pretty?!
