Wood bead crafts continue to be extremely popular, especially with all the farmhouse style lovers. These wood bead pinecone Christmas ornaments are super simple to make, but really make an impact on a tree.

Hello! I’m Michelle, happy to be back from from Our Crafty Mom with fun wood bead pine cone ornaments. Last month I showed you how to clean and preserve pine cones, and today I will be showing you an idea for crafting with them.

Hopefully, you are able to gather pine cones for free from a local park, or your yard. But if not, you can buy bags of them at the craft store for a decent price-especially with a coupon!

One of the things I like to share is that decorating for each holiday or season doesn’t have to cost a lot of money. Using items from nature is a great way to keep costs down. This weekend I plan to take a walk through the woods of my yard and gather some pine for my front porch.

When I was planning my Christmas decorations for this year, I knew I wanted to incorporate a few pine cones. But, I didn’t want to just hang them on the tree, so I thought about using wood beads.

I will admit to having a slight obsession with wood bead crafts, so they are always in my stash. You can whip up a trio of these ornaments in about 20 minutes.

Pinecone Christmas ornaments Tips

Scroll down to the printable craft card just a little further down. First, I have some tips about this craft that I wanted to share.

Use As Many Beads As You Want

Tie a large knot on the end of the twine and string the beads with as many beads as you like. I used 5 beads on each ornament, but you can make it shorter with just 3 beads if you want.

Tie another knot at the end of the ornament and use a hot glue gun to attach a pine cone. .

tie a loop for hanging

Tie a loop at the end of the wood bead string for hanging. If you forgot to leave enough room at the end of the string to create a loop, you can also cut some ribbon, form a loop, and hot glue it to the wood beads.

Add glitter

You can add glitter, or snowflakes, but that is totally optional. I’m of the opinion that all things are better with glitter!

add ribbon

I found the prettiest lace ribbon at the dollar store, which goes so well with a farmhouse style.

I made a simple bow and hot glued it to the top of the wood beads. It really softens it up. You can use whatever type of ribbon that you like. I bet buffalo check would look great too!
