The most essential back to school supply – hand Sanitizer

As any parent will tell you, when kids start school, they bring backpacks laden with papers, glue sticks, markers, and other supplies for school. As any teacher will tell you, they also bring germs with them! Every day when our son arrived at school last year, his teacher would greet him with a warm smile and a huge bottle of hand sanitizer.  In fact, the CDC lists hand sanitizer as one of the tools that can be used to combat the spread of germs in school.

Where To Buy Hand Sanitizer For School

Thankfully, every big box store that sells school supplies is also selling large tubs of hand sanitizer. Look for a large container with a pump – this is easier for kids to use as they enter and leave the classroom.

One of my favorite places to buy things like this is Costco. In May of 2020, they sold 32-ounce tubs of sanitizer for just $9.99 – so be on the lookout for deals like this when you shop there.

I recommend saving money and buying in bulk. This 2-pack of 32-ounce bottles is fragrance-free and just $19 on Amazon. It’s a fantastic deal!

Best Hand Sanitizer To Buy

When you shop for hand sanitizer’s follow the CDC guidelines. The CDC recommends using hand sanitizer that contains at least 60% alcohol. Thankfully, most of the ones on the market contain at least this much, if not more.

3. Trim the Con-Tact paper

To make the Hand Sanitizer Printable more durable, we chose to cover it with Con-Tact paper. The Con-Tact paper also worked great for adhering the printable to the hand sanitizer bottle. Alternatively, you could just use a piece of tape to attach the printable and give the teacher extra copies to replace the printable after it wears out.

Using the Hand Sanitizer Printable as template, cut the Con-Tact Paper to the correct size leaving 1/4 to 1/2″ of overlap on the short edges. You’ll use those edges to adhere the Hand Sanitizer Printable to the bottle.

  1. I love this Carrie! My hubby is a high school teacher and he is known for his love of hand sanitizer! Getting students to use it really does cut down on germs and colds spreading around!

    1. That’s so funny, Carrie – but smart too. He probably need the pocket sized version of this printable – although he’s dealing with big high schooler hands not little preschooler hands.
