DIY Cappuccino Milk bath directions

Here’s how to make these easy and luxurious milk baths.

1. Wash the bottles and remove the labels

First thing, wash the bottle and remove the label. Ours came off with soap and water. If you are reusing a bottle like we are, it might have a sell-by date stamped on it. Remove this with a nail polish remover pad. Make sure your bottle is completely dry.

2. Measure and crush the powdered milk

Measure out 4 tablespoons of powdered milk onto your cutting board. The powdered milk isn’t as powdery as it could be, so roll the powdered milk with a rolling pin to crush it more. Sweep into your mixing bowl. Repeat with another 4 tablespoons.

3. Add the baking soda and corn starch

Add 4 tablespoons of baking soda and 4 tablespoons of corn starch to the mixing bowl.

4. crush the instant coffee

Measure out 4 tablespoons of instant coffee onto the cutting board. Like the powdered milk, the instant coffee is just not powdery enough as it is. Rollover it with the rolling pin to crush the instant coffee more. Sweep into the mixing bowl.

5. add the vanilla essential oil

Add 5 drops of vanilla essential oil to the mixing bowl. Stir all the ingredients together.

6. put the ingredients into the bottles

Spoon the milk bath mixture into your bottle. (We made a paper funnel to help with this step!) Fill the bottle almost to the top leaving about 1” below the lid. Then spoon more powdered milk (not crushed) into the top of the bottle. It will look a little like foam on top!

7. spray paint the lid

Spray paint the lid ivory and let dry. Place on top of the bottle.

8. print out the label and attach it to the bottle

Print and cut out the label. Set the label on your worktable face up. Tear off a 6” piece of clear packing tape. Pick up the label with the center of the tape. Lay the bottle down and attach the label to the front of the jar by wrapping the tape around the sides of the jar.
