Food Processor Buttermilk Scones
Food Processor Buttermilk Scones are a simple and quick pastry for breakfast and tea parties, served with butter, clotted cream or your favorite jams.

- 2-1/2 cups Flour All-Purpose
- 2 tbsp Granulated Sugar
- 2-1/2 tsp Baking Powder
- 1/2 tsp Salt
- 1/2 tsp Baking Soda
- 1/2 cup Butter Cold Butter - Cubed
- 1 Egg
- 1 cup Buttermilk
Preheat oven to 400°F.
Combine flour, sugar, baking powder, salt and baking soda in the bowl of food processor fitted with metal blade. Pulse several times to combine.
Add the cold butter and pulse quickly until mixture resembles coarse meal.
Add egg and buttermilk and pulse just until mixture comes together in clumps. The dough should be a bit sticky.
Dust a work surface lightly with flour, then dump scone dough onto surface. With lightly floured hands, press dough into ball. On a floured surface, knead gently 10 times.
Press dough into a flat circle about 3/4-inch high, then use a sharp knife to cut into 12 wedges.
Place scones on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
Bake for 18 to 20 minutes or until golden. Transfer to a rack and allow to cool completely.
Serve warm with butter or jam.
Store in airtight container at room temperature for up to 1 day.
