This irresistible lemon bars recipe balances sweet with tartness by combining the perfect shortbread crust with a delicious lemon custard.

For the crust:
- 1 cup Unsalted Butter Softened
- 1 cup Powdered Sugar Plus more for Topping
- 2 cups Flour All-Purpose
- 1/4 teaspoon Salt
For the custard:
- 4 Large Eggs
- 2 cups Granulated Sugar
- 6 tablespoons Flour All-Purpose
- 2/3 cup Lemon Juice Fresh
- 2 teaspoons Lemon Zest
- 1/8 teaspoon Salt
To make the crust:
Sift the powdered sugar, flour, and salt into a large bowl.
Combine the flour mixture with the butter by hand.
Press the dough into the bottom of a buttered 9 x 13 baking dish.
Bake for 20 minutes. After removing it from the oven, allow it to cool for about 10 minutes.
To make the custard:
Whisk the eggs, sugar, flour, and salt in a large bowl.
Stir in the lemon juice and zest until well combined.
Pour the custard onto the crust and bake for 25-30 minutes or until firm.
Refrigerate for at least 2 hours and cut into squares. Sprinkle with powdered sugar.
