I like to repurpose old things or junk. More often than not I find them in the hidden corners of my basement. There is nothing more satisfying to me than to create something meaningful from cast aside objects. What did I find in the basement this time? A barbecue grill. I used a part of it to create a planter but I still had many pieces left over.
Father’s Day is fast approaching and I have the perfect gift for Dad. Now, I’m not the type of person who gives ties or beer mugs. I prefer a more personal approach. Using two racks that were originally part of the barbecue, I wrapped them together to create a very personal gift for Dad – a photo display can be hung on the wall. This can also be given to anyone special any time of the year, and the colors can be varied to your liking. By repurposing an unused item, you too can create a very special handmade gift for Dad that is also environmentally friendly!
