Clay Frame Tutorial

Create a beautiful and unique picture frame with air dry clay. This clay frame tutorial uses texture and shape to create a clay embellished frame that will show off your photos with style.

Supplies

  • 1 Package Air Dry Clay
  • 1 Bottle Fevicol Glue
  • 1 set Acrylic Paint
  • 1 ea Wooden Picture Frame
  • 1 set Small Cutter Shapes (tree and star)

Instructions

  • Roll out air dry clay to 1/4" thick and cut out tree and star shapes.
  • For larger shapes, use a craft knife to hand cut.
  • Use Fevicol Glue to place all clay embellishments onto the wooden frame.
  • Use the end of a paint brush or any other tool to add texture to the clay embellishments.
  • Allow the air dry clay to dry.
  • Use acrylic paint to paint in the background.
  • Use several different colors of green to paint the trees.
  • Once the paint has dried. Add a wash of black acrylic paint. Dab off extra. This will bring out the textures.
  • To add the small stars, dip the bristles of the toothbrush in a small amount of paint and position it over or near the frame. Then, pull back the bristles to create a fine mist.
