THIS POST MAY CONTAIN AFFILIATE LINKS. PLEASE SEE OUR FULL DISCLOSURE POLICY FOR DETAILS.

The Summer Spotlight focuses on great ideas for the home from a new blogger each week. This week the spotlight is on Roeshel from the DIY Show Off.

Welcome to the 12th week of the Summer Spotlight where we’ve been sharing great ideas for the home from creative bloggers all summer long! One of the things I’ve loved most about this series is getting to know different bloggers. This week my co-host, Susan, is sharing incredible ideas from Roeshel at the DIY Show Off! I’ve seen Roeshel’s gorgeous chandelier planter all over social media this summer, so I was really excited when I found out we were going to be sharing that plus so much more this week in the Summer Spotlight. As always, if you love Roeshel’s ideas, please click through to her site for full tutorials and to pin from the original source.

Hello Everyone! It’s Susan from Oh My! Creative, and I am excited to share with you a great DIY blogger – meet Roeshel from the DIY Show Off! She is as beautiful on the inside as she is on the outside! I first discovered that Roeshel and I were both local bloggers, living about half an hour from each other, when I saw she was leading our local “I Love Thrifting Day.” A somewhat national event organized by another blogger where we hopped to several Goodwill stores in our area looking for treasures to repurpose! Since that time, we have occasionally met for lunch and this summer we attended the Haven Conference together!

Her blog centers around a neglected 1927 farmhouse that her and her husband purchased in 2007. They enjoy making this old house a dream home one DIY project as at time. See her Home Tour and all the DIY thrifty details that have transformed their home!

In Roeshel’s words…

Lover of DIY and eclectic decorating, I share the transformation of an old fixer upper farmhouse with budget friendly DIY decorating and home improvement stories, before and after room makeovers and fun craft ideas. DIY Show Off also encourages readers to “do-it-yourself” to create a beautiful home filled with personalization and love as well as offers DIY fans an opportunity to “show off” their DIY projects.

First, on the list of unbelievable transformations is her pantry! Here she built a DIY Industrial Pipe Shelving Unit that created a Beautiful Open Pantry area off her kitchen that was originally an awkward useless hallway space with six doors.

Not only did Roeshel make this DIY Wall Mounted Lantern Hanger, but she styled it in an unusual way by replacing candles with small succulent plants!

Do I need to say anything about this DIY {Dresser Drawer} Dog Bed for her dog CocoRosie?! I love everything from the color to the parasol, and so does her furry family member – so stylish! See her Chandelier Planter tutorial here!

At our last lunch, earlier this Summer, Roeshel, gave me a bottle of DIY Bug Spray. It happened to come at the perfect time. My son, who has disabilities, likes to hang out in the driveway watching the neighborhood activity, and he was getting tons of mosquito bites! If you are like me, you hate to spray your kids with the traditional chemical bug sprays. So, that night, I gave the essential oils bug spray a try with great results and continued to use it throughout the Summer with great success! Not another single bite! I know I will be buying and making my own bug spray next year!

She doesn’t have a recipe on her blog for the bug spray, but you might like this Mint Mocha Smoothie and her Rustic Glam Woodland Centerpiece! What a beautiful rustic setting for sipping Mint Mocha Smoothies…made with the essential oils!

Roeshel has her own reasons for going all natural with products…

Natural Living: In addition to do-it-yourself and creating a beautiful, comfortable environment in our home, I’m also in the process of creating a chemical-free, healthy home with the help of Young Living essential Oils. I’m super passionate about how life changing they’ve been for me and our family. Want more info? Let’s connect, and I’ll hook you up here!
