When Kent and I got married several years ago, we registered for a beautiful down comforter for our master bedroom. It’s khaki with cream and khaki confetti-like embroidery down the center. It is plush and gorgeous, but it’s also incredibly warm. This is great for the winter months here in Michigan, but in the summer months I just swelter! I’ve been meaning to look for a lighter weight comforter, quilt or bedspread so I jumped at the chance to work with Lush Decor to replace my bedding.
Now let’s take you along on my Lush Decor shopping experience and get your opinion on my bedroom ideas for my master bedroom. First, let’s take a look at my starting point. Here’s our master bedroom:
The paint on three of our master bedroom walls is a light sage green. The wall right behind our headboard is a darker shade of the same color. At this point, I still love the color, so I want to find lighter weight bedding that coordinates with the sage green walls. You can also see the carpeting in our bedroom is a neutral tan, perfect for hiding the hair from our four-legged family member who shares our room.
Bedroom Ideas from Lush Decor
As I shopped online at Lush Decor, I saw many beautiful bedroom ideas, but I focused my selection on this criteria:
- New bedding needs to be lighter weight for summer months. This ruled out all the heavier comforters and narrowed my choices to the quilt sets which could also double as a blanket in the summer.
- New bedding needs to coordinate with sage green walls. I was impressed by the number of bright colorful quilts offered on Lush Decor. I was especially drawn to the bright yellows and oranges, but most of them didn’t go with sage green.
- New bedding couldn’t be overly feminine. There are some really pretty flowery options for quilts and comforters. As gorgeous as they were, I just knew I couldn’t talk Kent into them. It’s his bedroom too, so I want to choose something that he’ll like as well.
I finally narrowed my options to five beautiful quilt sets from Lush Decor. I’m sharing them in no particular order:
Option 1: The Bold and The Beautiful – Black and White
I love the boldness of this black and white quilt set. The paisley damask like pattern on one side with the plaid checks on the other balance both the masculine and feminine qualities of this print. My question: is it too bold for summer or restful slumber?

Option 2: Keep It Simple, Sweetie – Khaki Striped
I was drawn to this simple khaki striped quilt set because it closely resembles the down comforter we have now. I also know Kent likes simple straight lines. My question: is this quilt different enough to give our room a fresh new look for spring and summer?

Option 3: Pretty in Purple – Floral Striped
After the last two color neutral options, I couldn’t keep my eyes off this gorgeous floral striped quilt. The shades of purple would coordinate well with our sage green walls. My question: will Kent think this is too feminine?

Option 4: Cool Blue and Lush Green
When I saw this quilt full of cool blues and lush green colors, I immediately thought SPRING! It is stunning and fresh. My question: would all that blue look wrong with my sage green walls?

Option 5: Colorful and Fun
I am a big fan of bright colorful patterns and thought this quilt was so fun! I had to include it among the options for consideration. The reds, oranges, and yellows are cheerful and warm for those spring and summer months. My question: does the green in the leaves match my sage green walls?

I like the khaki stripe best in your space, but would pull in some fresh patterned pillows to add a crisp summer feel. Pillows with a white background and some fun florals as well as just solid white but texture would really brighten it up. You could even throw a black one in there. Have fun deciding!

I LOVE Lush Decor!! I’ve been looking at their window treatments, our living room is in desperate need of some light and sheer curtains! And in regards to your bedding, they’re all beautiful choices, but I like the khaki striped and cool blue and lush green the best. I am in love with the Mia 8 piece comforter set. Its so pretty!
Christina, I can see why! That Mia comforter set is GORGEOUS! I like the different textures/patterns in it. I don’t think I could do gray in my green room, though. Would it go great in your bedroom? I see it’s on clearance right now.
These colors probably would work in a green room, but they would match my very light blue colored room. I think the black and gray would go great with the light light blue. Its really a great deal for the price.

I think the cool blue and green will work the best but still be a change that Kent won’t hate. I think the purple is pretty but too girly. The khaki is a very safe choice but won’t give you much of a change. I also think the colorful fun one might be on the girly side as well. :D. Good luck with your shopping!

I really like the Lydia 4 piece Comforter Set. The colors Baby Blue and Brown design and colors look really good together.

I would choose the khaki stripe. It is timeless, refreshing,and yet serene. Adding other pillows to change out the look to coordinate with seasonal themes will always allow you to make the room seem “new”.
