How to Make an Easy Springtime Bunny Candy Jar
I used a Ball canning jar, but you can use any glass jar with lid. Or you can even upcycle an old tomato sauce or pickle jar!

- Glass Jar with lid. I found a Ball canning jar with a solid, flat lid (no band) at a local thrift store – but any glass jar with a lid will work. Like this one. Or this one.
- Plastic bunny figure. Or if you’re making a few of these, you could buy this set.
- Acrylic paint in your desired color, I used Folkart French Blue and Plantation Rose.
- Small paint brush
- Super Glue
- Tiny white pom poms
- Jute twine and ribbon to match
- Candy – this Easter basket candy mix is perfect – but any candy will do.
Instructions:
1. Paint your bunny figurine.
Make sure your jar and lid are cleaned and dried fully. Then set aside and paint your bunny figure with 2 coats of paint. Be sure to get all the little grooves and let the paint dry completely between each coat.
2. Attach the figurine.
Place a good amount of super Glue on the bottom of the figurine and glue it to the top of the lid. Hold it in place for about a minute and then set it aside to dry.
3. Add your pom pom tail.
I cut a small notch in the side of my small pom pom so that it fit around the bunny tail. Then add a dot of super glue to the tail and attach the pom pom. Hold it in place for a minute and set aside.
4. Add your ribbon.
I used a few different types of ribbon and twine combinations that best “matched” my jar and candy. I like the jute twine combined with the thin silver string. Tie your ribbon around the jar, just under the lid so it doesn’t interfere with opening and closing.
Add your candy and you have an adorable holiday or spring decoration – or gift idea.
