These chocolate caramel pretzel bites are so simple to make and so delicious to eat! They have the perfect amount of sweet and salty flavors and make a great treat to package up as a gift!
Hi there! It’s Kelly from Typically Simple and I’m excited to be back with a delicious treat recipe that is perfect for the holiday season! These chocolate caramel pretzel bites are one of our favorite treats to eat at our family Christmas parties. And I always volunteer to make them because they are really SO easy to make!
The first time I had these, a fellow teacher had made a batch and wrapped them up as a yummy Christmas gift. I think I ate the whole bag on the drive home, they are that good! She actually topped them off with pecans which made them taste similar to turtles candy. I decided to make my version a little more kid-friendly by using Christmas colored M&M’s but it would be easy to whip up a batch of both!

Preheat the oven to 200°F. Unwrap the Rolos – this would be a great job for the kiddos to help with! Line a baking sheet with wax paper. Place the pretzels in rows on the baking sheet.
Place an unwrapped Rolo on top of each pretzel.
Put in the oven for about 5-6 minutes. When the Rolo candies look like they are starting to melt and losing a little height, it’s time to pull out the pan! You don’t want them to melt too much or it will get messy. Carefully place an M&M on top of the Rolo and press down.
Let the treats cool completely and check that the chocolate has hardened before handling. I like to pop the pan into the fridge for about 15 minutes to speed up the process. Store in an airtight container in a cool place.
These chocolate caramel pretzel bites are the perfect treat for Christmas parties or package up to give as a gift! I like to put a handful into a plastic baggie and tie off with a ribbon and cute tag.
How cute is that snowman? It’s a sticker from Kawaii Goodies that I attached to a piece of card stock – a fun, little extra something to make the packaging that much cuter! A bag of these chocolate caramel pretzel bites would make a great gift for a neighbor, teacher, or friend! And, it would be adorable paired with these Hot Chocolate Pops!
