Looking for a fun activity to do with your kids? This edible silly putty only has two ingredients. It is an easy idea for kids that is fun and safe to eat if they put it in their mouths.

Who says you can’t have your fun and eat it too? This recipe for edible silly putty is a kid activity that’s fun for the whole family.

Hey Kenarry readers! It’s me, Trish, back again. This time I brought along a replacement word for the age-old phrase, “who says you can’t have your cake and eat it too?” I also brought along a simple tutorial for edible fun to prove that the words “fun” and “cake” are interchangeable in that well-known phrase.

Do you have a summer bucket list? A few weeks ago I shared a post with the bucket list that my six-year-old and I created for this summer. We had plenty of ideas to fill our summer months however both he and I enjoy downtime too. Along with going to the beach, a baseball game and camping, we also included have a pajama day and make play dough on our summer bucket list.

Edible silly putty – fun activity for kids

Even though we thought that pajama day would be a great day to make play dough we decided to try something new. We made edible silly putty with just two ingredients. And even though our silly putty felt a little bit like play dough we did not mark “make play dough” off of our bucket list. Our plan is to make the real stuff on our next pajama day.

It is highly likely that we will make another round of silly putty too. With just two non-toxic edible ingredients, it is too easy not to make again!

3. Mix until it can roll into a ball

Continue to mix the edible silly putty until it can be rolled into a ball.

4. pick it up and play with the silly putty

When a ball of putty can be formed pick it up and manipulate it with your hands to ensure the two ingredients are well combined.

What to do if your silly putty is too dry or too sticky

If it is too dry, add more yogurt. If the putty is too sticky, mix in a little more cornstarch.

How to store the silly putty

When the putty fun comes to an end just throw it away. It does not keep well.

Whether or not you have a summer bucket list, I highly recommend making edible silly putty. It makes for an awesome indoor activity on really hot summer days and pajama days.

Until next time…
