National Teacher Appreciation Week and the end of the school year are quickly approaching. A while back our Kenarry readers taught us 5 ways to give thanks when school ends plus shared countless teacher gift ideas with us. Through that experience, we learned how important it is to teach children to show appreciation. As well as how essential it is to recognize teachers for all their hard work throughout the school year. So many of them go above and beyond to serve their students in the classroom.

When our oldest son was in first grade last year he had an amazing teacher who really awakened in him a love for writing. I’m not sure exactly what she said that made such an impact. But nowadays that kid can spend hours on end filling notebooks with all kinds of adventures about his imaginary characters. In fact he’s working on an entire book series now!

As the school year was winding down, we wanted to design a special thank you card to celebrate his teacher. Our son loves to tell funny jokes – so much that he even had me make car valentines with jokes to give his first grade friends. So it was only appropriate that we search to find the BEST teacher joke to make into a funny teacher appreciation card for his teacher.

When we gave her the funny teacher appreciation card we included a small gift card to Amazon as a token of our appreciation. But most importantly we had our son write her a very personal note inside the card thanking her for a great year.

It was a big hit with our son’s first grade teacher. If your child’s teacher enjoys jokes too, we’ve made this funny teacher appreciation card available as a FREE digital download for Kenarry Idea Insiders.

4. Sign, seal, deliver.

Last, but not least have your child write a personal note inside the card and sign it. If you want, add an extra little note from you too. Your child’s teacher would absolutely love that. Insert the teacher card into an envelope to give as is or pair it with a thoughtful gift. Apples, fresh or potted flowers, school supplies, his or her favorite candy or a gift card would all be great ideas to go with this teacher appreciation card.
