Hi everyone, It’s Erica from Messy Momma Crafts. I thought I’d share a little of my love of colorful food/treats with you by showing you how to make these yummy and easy to make Rainbow Rice Krispie Treats.

How to Make Easy Rainbow Rice Krispie Treats:

You’ll love how easy and colorful these Rice Krispie Treats turn out to be. They only require a few ingredients which you might already have in your cabinet.

Kitchen or Craft/DIY Tools Needed: 

  • 9 x 13″  Baking Pan
  • Parchment paper
  • 4″ Scalloped circle cookie cutter
  • Wilton decorating bags
  • 5 Cups
  • 5 Spoons

Supplies or Ingredients Needed: 

  • 6 Cups Rice Krispies Cereal
  • 10oz Bag miniature marshmallows
  • 3 Tablespoons of butter, softened
  • 2 Cans vanilla frosting
  • Red, orange, yellow, blue and pink food coloring
  • Non-stick cooking spray

Instructions:

Here’s how to make your own treats. They are so simple that you can get your kids to join in the fun! There are basically just two steps: make the treats and decorate them!

1. Prepare your Rice krispie treats.

In a large microwave-safe bowl, heat your marshmallows and butter for 1-2 minutes until the marshmallows get puffy and mix in your Rice Krispies one cup at a time.

Spray your baking pan with a non-stick cooking spray and press your Rice Krispie Treats into your pan.

Use a 4″ scalloped cookie cutter to cut out your Rice Krispie Treats.

2. decorate your rice krispies:

In five small cups, scoop 1/3 cup of frosting in each cup and use the food coloring to color each cup of frosting a different color. 

Scoop each color frosting into a decorating bag and cut a small tip off the end of each bag.

Start with the red, then orange, yellow, blue and pink frosting and draw a half circle rainbow shape on each Rice Krispie right under the last color.

Dab some blue or white frosting onto the rainbow on each side and stick some miniature marshmallows on each side.
