Teacher Appreciation Card: Free Printable For Year End

Say thank you to your child’s teacher with this free printable teacher appreciation card. It has a focus on reading books and saying thanks at the end of the school year.

A free printable teacher appreciation card makes an easy gift. Just attach an Amazon gift card or one for a local book store. The design of this teacher card also works great if your school celebrates National Teacher Appreciation Week or National Teachers Day in early May of each year.

Several years ago we reached out to Kenarry readers for advice about whether to give a teacher appreciation gift at the end of the school year. From their responses, we learned 5 ways to give thanks to teachers plus got tons of great teacher appreciation gift ideas. A few of our key takeaways were that a teacher appreciation gift doesn’t need to be expensive and that gifts personalized by the student are especially valued or cherished by teachers.

After gathering those great insights, we decided to design a special card our son could give his teachers at the end of the school year. While the card focused specifically on his teacher’s love of reading, we also left an empty line on the cover where he could fill-in-the-blank telling her what he enjoyed learning about most this year. Then since his teacher loves reading so much we also included an Amazon gift card as a token of our appreciation. On the inside of the teacher appreciation card, we included a note encouraging her to get a new novel to read over the summer break.

It was a quick and easy teacher appreciation gift idea. Since our son’s teacher loved it so much, we wanted to share it with Kenarry Idea Insiders as a free printable Teacher Appreciation Card.

The colorful stack of books with an apple perched on top is sure to warm the heart of any book loving teacher. The teacher appreciation card is designed to print on card stock using your home computer and printer. Once it’s folded, the teacher card is 5″ wide by 7″ tall so it can fit in a standard A7 envelope.

What you need:

• Access to a computer and color printer
• White cardstock
• Scissors or Paper Cutter
• Gift card to Amazon or a local bookstore
• 5 x 7″ Envelopes (A7)

Instructions:

2. Print and cut the teacher appreciation card

This teacher appreciation card is designed to be two sided. However the inside of the card is entirely optional. If you don’t want to include an Amazon or local bookstore gift card, just skip printing that part. You could have your child draw a picture or write a special message on the inside instead.

To make your card look like mine though, first you’ll print the front/back side of the card on white card stock. Then run the cardstock back through your printer to print the message on inside of the card. Every printer is different so you may need to flip or rotate your cardstock to get the teacher appreciation card to print correctly. It might be helpful to test it out on regular printer paper first.

3. Cut and fold the teacher appreciation card

Trim the card down to 5 x 7 inches using scissors or a paper trimmer. There’s no need to measure! You’ll notice I put faint gray lines on the front of the teacher appreciation card to guide you.

Once the card is cut down to size, fold it in half and press along the fold to create a good crease.

4. Have your child customize the card 

Have your child fill-in-the-blank on the front of the card with something he or she loved learning about this year. You could also have your child sign and add a longer note on the inside of the teacher appreciation card. If your child is in preschool or lower elementary school, the child could draw pictures and color inside the card instead. This is really your child’s opportunity to personalize the card and express their gratitude to their teachers.

5. Attach the gift card 

Use tape to affix the Amazon or bookstore gift card to the inside of the card below where it says to enjoy a new book to read over the summer break.

6. Sign, seal and deliver

Before you seal up the teacher appreciation card, add a personal note from you on the inside of the card too. I really think we cannot possibly thank our children’s teachers enough for all the time and love they pour into our kids. When you’re all done, insert the teacher card into a 5 x 7 envelope and you’re good to go!
