Someone hide this blog post from my husband! I mean, really, what’s the best Christmas gift to get for the music loving techie in your life? I know hardly anything when it comes to audio technology, but Kent’s an expert. If it’s wireless, Bluetooth, portable, has a speakerphone and a long battery life, then it’s probably at the top of his Christmas gift list. I’ve got the best idea for him this year thanks to JBL and can’t wait to tell you about it.

To call Kent a music lover is a gross understatement. When we first met, he was in the process of building his dream house. He wired nearly every room on the main floor himself for built-in speakers. He even put speakers in the master bathroom! Lucky for me, his dream house became “our” dream house. When we finished our basement a few years ago, he also wired the whole thing for music speakers. We can literally put the whole house in “party mode” and have music rocking throughout almost every room when we host Christmas parties.
If I don’t have music playing on the stereo system when Kent gets home from work, he ALWAYS notices. I can hardly turn from making dinner to greet him before I see him using his iPhone to queue up one of our favorite Pandora radio stations. Lately, it’s been Mumford and Sons, Jack Johnson or Norah Jones radio. He likes to play something light and relaxing as we unwind from the day. With the holidays approaching, “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas” radio is about to become the top choice. You get the picture, though. Music is an integral, important part of our home with Kent serving as “the DJ of our lives.”
Every year, I struggle with finding the perfect gift for Kent. The problem with a tech enthusiast husband is if he wants something, he tends to buy it for himself and doesn’t wait for Christmas or his birthday. He also knows way more about this stuff than I do, so I usually feel under qualified to buy him a tech gift. If you have the same problem I do, JBL has our answer. They have tons of great ideas for gifting audio this holiday season.
With a four year old and soon-to-be two year old at home, it’s so much easier and convenient if I can shop online. Thanks to JBL, I now have the perfect holiday gift idea for Kent this year. The boys and I are giving him a JBL Charge 2 wireless, Bluetooth speaker so he can have the same high quality experience listening to music at his office that he enjoys at home.
The JBL Charge 2 wireless speaker has a long battery life, so it can play up to 12 hours of music (though I hope he never has to work that long!). It also has a built in USB port so Kent can charge his iPhone while he’s listening to tunes between meetings. There’s even a built in speakerphone so he can take conference calls right at his desk. If this isn’t the perfect gift for him, I don’t know what is!
So that’s what Kent’s going to find under the Christmas tree this year. What are you getting your favorite music lover this year? Please comment below and share. Kent’s birthday is coming up in March so I’m keeping my ears open for more great audio gift ideas!
