Tips For Using this Printable Food Temperature Chart

According to the Center for Disease Control and Prevention, 1 in every 25 packages of chicken products and other poultry at a food store may be contaminated with Salmonella. We know that dangerous bacteria live on the surface of raw food, so it’s essential to make sure you are cooking all of your food thoroughly and correctly.

Print and Keep Handy in the Kitchen

The first step in preventing food poisoning and undercooked food related illnesses is to download this printable guide and keep it in your kitchen for reference.

Oftentimes, we neglect to double check and make sure our food is at the correct internal temperature before eating. Did you know that some meats require resting time as well, so that the internal parts and juices have cooked thoroughly? Having this guide in your kitchen will serve as a reminder, as well as provide the exact detailed information about temperatures and resting times for each type of food.

Buy a Thermometer for Cooking

In addition, I suggest adding a food thermometer to your kitchen toolkit if you don’t already have one. Even for seasoned cooks, the internal temperature of a roast or steak might not be what it seems. It is always best to check with your cooking thermometer for an exact measurement. Reference the food temperature guide to ensure all your food has reached the adequate internal temperature for consumption.

Make it a Reference Sign in All Cooking Areas

If you have a laminator or laminating sheets, I suggest your laminate this printable food temperature chart to make it waterproof. You can also use some packing tape to protect the surface from splashes and the elements in our kitchen environments. You are effectively making a sign that can be posted in your kitchen wall or refrigerator door. It will serve as a friendly reminder for anyone and everyone who prepares food in the kitchen.

Also, since you have this chart as a digital file, it means that you can print it out again as needed as well as make multiple copies. Consider making a copy for your outdoor barbecue area and wherever you might be cooking food – such as your camper van. You can even pack it with your picnic barbecue tools or portable cooktops and stoves. It’s important to put this food chart up as a reminder and reference wherever food is being handled and prepared.
