Budgeting Tips:

Expense Tracking

So when it comes to budgeting and finances, people tend to fall into the two camps. Some believe it’s way to simple and there’s no need to write it down because the information is in our bank account statements and other digital software. The other extreme are those who find numbers and finances too complicated, so they avoid it altogether.

After downloading the free printable budget worksheets PDF, you’ll find that budgeting can be very simple, yet helpful at the same time. It doesn’t have to be complicated at all. The most important first step is to track everything! Every single transaction, whether it is money in or money out, needs to be noted. It is much too easy to overlook spending here and there, that then adds up at the end of the month.

So the first step in budgeting is to simply use the expense tracker to track all your transactions. You can even print it out smaller, multiple pages on a sheet, so that you can throw this in your purse with a pen to record information on the go. Make it a habit to write everything down. Once you have all the data, you’ll be able to easily see an overview of your financial situation at the end of each month.

Monthly Review

Once you have information on your spending, whether you track it by hand or prefer to look over all your digital statements, consolidate the information on the monthly budget worksheet. This will give you a clean summary of your financial standing. You can do this in the beginning month to estimate what you think you will earn and spend. And you can do this same exercise at the end of the month to compare estimates versus actual.

The idea is that spending just a few minutes to track all your financial numbers, helps keep you fully aware and intentional with spending. There will be no surprises if you are keep track of everything.

Check-in, Analyze and Improve

With all the information on hand, you can now analyze the data and know exactly what your financial standing is at the moment. Then you will be able to easily see where you might be overspending. Having an overview enables you to find where you can improve as well. Whether you want to increase income, reduce expenses or work more on debt payment. Your financial summary on one page really helps you to see the big picture and make decisions.

And the great thing about using printable worksheets is that if you run out of space, simply print another copy! This makes printable worksheets flexible no matter what your needs might be.

So by following a straightforward process of tracking and analyzing each month, you will be able to stay on top of your finances. That will help you make changes depending on your financial goals. This way, each and every month, you will improve and work towards your financial success! Good luck!
