Teacher gifts don’t have to be complicated! Just something to let them know that you appreciate them and this scent-sational teacher gift does just that.

Do you have a hard time with teacher gifts? I do. I want my kid’s teacher to know that I truly appreciate them, but I also don’t want to give them useless things.

But, I imagine most teachers get a lot of different items throughout the year. I only want to give things that will actually be useful, but that also won’t break the bank!

Craft Tips:

Candle with 'Thank you for being a scent-sational teacher' written on the top, next to an open candle

Pick a light fragrance candle

Unless you know the teacher loves a certain scent, I would recommend sticking with a scent that’s not too overpowering. A fresh scent, water, or clean scent is usually pretty subtle.

Unless of course it’s a holiday and then I might go with a themed candle. A pumpkin spice or candy cane!

Some people are very sensitive to smells though, so I would try to figure out what scent the teacher might like best before gifting. Some schools will have a list of the teacher’s favorite things, or you could ask the teacher directly.

If your school doesn’t create a list of the teacher’s favorite items, maybe you should create one! I’m sure all the parents in the class would be very appreciative. Ask the teacher to fill out some basic likes at the beginning of the school year and then send it to all the parents in the class.

This way you can help ensure the teacher will actually get gifts they like and can use all year long!

Add something small

Adding something small to the gift is a great way to step it up a notch. A small gift card or a nice hand written note would pair very well with this candle.

I always like to give a gift card to a location I know the teacher likes. Starbucks or Target always seem to be popular. Again, if you can get some information from the teacher it will be helpful to make sure the gift card will actually be used.

Or have your child, or yourself, write a note talking about why you are thankful for the teacher. Whether they have fun in their class, or the teacher has taken extra time with your child a note will be really well received.

Of course, a candle with this printable is also a beautiful gift all by itself. It will let the teacher know that you were thinking about them and really appreciate them!
