How to Make Ambrosia Fruit Salad

What is ambrosia salad?

Ambrosia salad is a classic side dish usually made with oranges, pineapples, whipped topping, coconut flakes, and mini marshmallows. I used a different type of fruit and made it creamier with yogurt. Believe me, it’s amazing!

Whipped Fruit Salad Tips:

Do i have to only use canned fruit?

Absolutely not. I love using a base of canned fruit, like a fruit cocktail mix, canned pears and maraschino cherries. But you can make this using your favorite fresh fruits too like sliced grapes, kiwis, and apples.

Classic ambrosia salad uses mandarin oranges and pineapple, so use that instead of fruit cocktail for a little fun twist.

Can i make this recipe the night before?

Yes! One of the best parts about this recipe is when the marshmallows on top get a little soft and melt in your mouth with every bite. But if you prefer your marshmallow texture not so soft, make the whipped fruit salad the night before and add the marshmallows on before you serve the dish.
