There are so many situations when you want to express your gratitude to someone. It would be nice to give them a little something to show that you care. Besides presenting your thoughts with a greeting card, why not include a gift card as well? It’s a great idea for little gestures of appreciation as well as appropriate for people who are difficult to shop for. It’s the thought that counts, of course!

Using this free printable gift card holder

After signing up above, you’ll receive a link to download the printable PDF in your email inbox. The design is made to be printed on letter-sized paper and will be very easy for duplication if you need to create many of these, especially during the holidays. Gift cards also make great party favors as well!

Download, print, Trim Your Gift Card Holder

Once you download the PDF, just be sure to print “Actual Size” at the best print quality possible. That will ensure you get the highest quality print out. Also, I recommend using cardstock to give your card a sturdier foundation to support the gift card itself.

The design of this printable is printer-friendly for home use, respecting margins and not too ink-heavy. However, you can also send the PDF to your local print shop if you want to print on better paper and in bulk. Each page gives you four gift cards and you simply have to trim equally horizontally and vertically to get the final gift card. It’s super easy and quick to produce in bulk!

Attaching the gift card Inside

When it comes to attaching the gift card to this printable design, you can use a trimmer to cut two slits to slip the corners of a gift card into the paper. However, I find it easier to simply use some decorative tape to attach the gift card in the middle of this design.

It’s a lot faster and easier to do without having to measure or struggle with slipping in the gift cards. Again this will help with the process, especially if you are making these gift cards to giveaway in bulk.

Once the cards are trimmed to size and the gift card is attached inside, it will fit in a standard greeting card envelope. It might be a good idea to actually make a few extra to keep in your purse, for emergency gift giving and thank you’s all throughout the year.

Ideas for Adding Extras

I know that some of you may want to add an extra touch to your gift cards. I truly believe it is the thought that counts, so making your own gift cards with a sweet sentiment to give to others is already amazing. However, if you have a bit of extra time, consider tying pretty ribbon around the final envelope so that you are wrapping it up like a traditional gift. Ribbons can add another touch of elegance.

Or consider using wax to seal the envelope or just a pretty sticker. These tiny touches of embellishment will add to your show of appreciation. If you recipient might like it, also consider adding confetti or candy inside the envelope, however may fit inside.
