Having grown up with eczema, I was always interested in skincare, even at a young age. Very early on, I learned about the benefits of homemade skin products (and also learned how to be very careful with how certain ingredients may react from my skin). As a teen, I would often use a mixture of honey and cinnamon to help fight pimples and mild acne. Today, I’m excited to share an easy DIY Face Mask recipe that’s gentle on the skin, but still provides a nice glow.

DIY Face Mask Tips:

What are the benefits of banana on the skin?

Bananas are best known for being a natural skin moisturizer. It helps restore the moisture in your skin, while rehydrating skin cells.

What are the benefits of honey on the skin?

Honey is another great ingredient for moisturizing the skin. Many also believe that honey helps diminish the signs of premature aging.

Why did you add oats to this face mask?

Just like banana and honey, oats are a great natural way to keep your face moisturized. I also added it into the DIY Face Mask because it’s a gentle exfoliator. I am a firm believer in not over-exfoliating your face. The skin on your face is so sensitive, so it’s better to go in with something less harsh: just like oats.

be sure to pre-mash the banana

Before adding your oats and honey, mash the banana so that it’s easier to mix all of the ingredients together.

what does this face Mask do?

As someone who has grown up with eczema, I have also faced extremely dry skin. Over the years, I have learned how moisturizing bananas could be on our skin. So this is why I use it as the main base for my DIY Face Mask. This DIY Face Mask is a very popular DIY for first-timers, just because it’s so easy to whip-up. Plus, honey has anti-bacterial properties, making it an excellent addition to the recipe.
