DIY FREE PRINTABLE BIRTHDAY CARDS

Here’s how to print and then personalize the birthday cards.

1. PRINT.

Once you have the birthday card designs downloaded, you basically have a blueprint that can be used over and over again – or at least once for each special person in your life! From a super pink and fun confetti design to a bit more professional and masculine modern cake design, there’s something for everyone.

Simply choose which design you want to use and print on cardstock. In fact, I often print out multiple copies ahead of time, so that I have cards ready to go when I need them in a pinch.

I use a standard HP home inkjet printer, so it’s nothing fancy. The key is to use a thicker and whiter cardstock that will give you that luxurious high-quality look. Plus, be sure to always select the best quality print option available with your printer, to get the best quality print possible.

Alternatively, you can also send these free printable birthday cards to be printed professionally at your local copy shop or as a matte print where you get photos printed. The quality will be fantastic!

2. TRIM.

Once you have these birthday card designs printed out, just trim with a paper trimmer or scissors. Again, if you want to work ahead, print multiple copies and trim a bunch of cards at the same time, so you have them ready to go for future use.

A tip from my experience – whenever I need to create cards that are folded, I usually fold them first then trim. This ensures that the front and back of the card is exactly trimmed to the same size. It’s just an easy way to get the trimming more exact.

3. DECORATE!

Finally, you can decorate these cards with your own crafty embellishments if you want to dress them up a bit more. If you have crafty tools, you might also consider rounding the corners with a corner punch. Or add stickers or glitter to really get that crafty handmade look.

In addition, you can also decorate the envelope as opposed to the card itself. Write your personal message inside and put it all together in a snap. You can deliver this card to your birthday girl or boy by hand or via post. Ultimately, it’s the thought that counts, so be sure to never forget to send a birthday wish to family and friends!
