Decorating our home should never break the bank. This DIY Boho Flower Vase gives off vintage vibes, but is still very trendy with its clean lines and neutral palette. Learn how to make a flower vase of your very own!

Welcome back, creative friends! My name is Lisa and I am the founder of the Moments with Lisa blog. I am best known on social media (like Instagram and TikTok) for raising a family in a 1000 sq. ft. condo. It’s a small space, but we make it work!

Of course, when it comes to blogging in the home decor niche, I’m all about a good DIY. Today, I’m excited to teach you how to make a flower vase. It’s really easy to put together and even easier on the wallet!

Sometimes I’m flabbergasted when I walk into home decor stores and I see the full sticker price for decorative items. This is why I love DIYing the majority of our decor. It gives me the chance to decorate without sticker shock and allows me to customize things based on our tastes. Psst: do you remember the wooden vase I made? It’s another great DIY vase that takes only a few minutes to put together.

Tips on How to make a flower vase

add glue to the beads

When gluing your beads to your glass vase, add glue to the actual bead and then secure it onto your vase. I know it seems a bit more tedious, but it’s a lot cleaner and neater this way. If you add glue onto the vase, you risk having glue strings everywhere, and it’s just not as neat when you do it this way (although it is a lot quicker).

Have the holes facing upwards/downwards

Since this DIY calls for wooden beads, there will be two holes on each bead. When securing the beads on the vase, make sure the holes are facing upwards/downwards – this way we don’t see the holes when we look at the vase straight on.

Budget-Friendly Supplies

You want to know the best part about this DIY? I found all of the items from my local dollar store. I’ve been trying hard to give our condo a boho/neutral vibe, and adding details like wood and rattan has helped with my vision.

Recently, when I was shopping my neighborhood dollar store, I found the square vase and a tub full of assorted wooden beads, and this DIY idea came to mind! It was such a creative “aha” moment!

Instructions

  • Heat up your hot glue gun and add a dot of glue on each bead, working one bead at a time (because you don’t want the glue to dry out).
  • Secure the bead onto the glass vase, with the holes facing upwards/downwards, this way you don’t see the holes when you look at the vase straight-on.
  • You will want to space each bead about 1/2 an inch from each other. You will be able to fit 20 beads on each side, 4×5
  • Allow to set and use in your favorite room.
