Any Craft/DIY Tools Needed?
This craft tutorial is so easy, you won’t need any elaborate craft or DIY tools.
I know you’re smiling already!
Supplies Needed:
These are the ingredients you’ll need. All the exact amounts are in the printable card at the bottom of this post.
- Large 2″ or 3″ paper clips (These may be the usual silver ones or you could pick colorful ones too.)
- Large buttons
- Mini Glue dots
- Wiggly eyes
- A black Sharpie
Button Paper Clip Bookmark Tips:
Use large Buttons
While the size is not mandatory, picking 1″ buttons and nothing smaller is recommended.
The bigger, the better!
Also, picking choosing buttons with 2 eyelets vs. 4 is better, especially when gluing the wiggly eyes onto the button.
The wiggly eyes are placed over the eyelets so as to cover them completely.
Use Glue Dots For Ease
I recommend using Glue Dots to glue the wiggly eyes to the button.
and to attach the button to the paper clip.
Alternatively, if young kids are not doing this craft, you may use a hot glue gun.
The use of Glue Dots is quicker and safer especially when children make these paper clip bookmarks.
Attach Glue Dots to the Paper Clip
Measure the button you’re using against the paper clip and place a Glue Dot on either end of the top of the paper clip and one in the upper middle point.
Be Creative!
Don’t stress about how perfect the smiles need to be on the bookmark.
It can be a big smile, a surprised expression, a small smile or even a flat line for a “no expression” look.
I love drawing happy little ‘U’ smiles.
Yes, just like the ones on the Reindeer Jenga Blocks Christmas Ornaments.
All set for the tutorial?
You won’t believe how easy this is!
