You can use the shape templates and decorative paper to help with your St. Patrick’s Day projects. I’ll be sharing a few other ideas below, too!

Whenever a holiday or celebration comes up, I’m always thinking of how I can make it a fun activity for my kids. Digital printable designs are a really budget-friendly and easy to use option, especially if it’s a last minute craft session. Whether you want to use these printable shamrock templates for St. Patricks Day or another time of the year, I’ve designed them to be versatile. Get your kids and friends together for a fun crafternoon session – shamrock themed!

How to Use Printable Shamrock Pages

Black and white shaped printables can all be used as crafting templates, just like these shamrock designs I’ve designed. It’s always nice to have a predefined line to go by, so you don’t make mistakes in your project. You can easily print the shamrock pages to use as templates for cutting into other materials. Alternatively, you can decorate on top of the printed shape to make your own DIY masterpiece.

Printable Shamrock Craft Ideas:

Using Printable Shamrock Templates

When it comes to printable PDFs, it’s a super easy process to use at home. Just sign-up above to get the download link and save the PDF to your computer. Now you have these shamrock templates to print out whenever you need them.

So for the simplest method, print out the shamrock line drawing to use as a template. Whether you need to cut some cardstock paper or fabric, you can use the printed shape as a guide and avoid mistakes when trying to freehand anything! Any type of shape printable will work fine as a template for all your DIY projects.

Use as Coloring Pages

If you have younger kids, even cutting shapes out might be a bit too difficult. So consider using these shamrock templates as coloring pages! Any black and white shape printable can be instantly turned into a coloring page for younger children. You can let them color in with a variety of colors, let them paint in the shape or glue collage shapes or pieces in.

So, a simple shape template can be a very fun activity for the afternoon! Do not underestimate how fun it is to glue pieces of pasta inside a shape for the little ones! Let them get creative and have fun!

Make A Shamrock Garland

Whether you are able to cut out the shamrock shape or simply decorate and color up the shape pages, consider duplicating your efforts so you can make a shamrock garland! I really like using the shamrock shape to cut out felt or cardstock to string together a decorative garland to hang in our room for the season.

However, you can also just make a garland out of colored pages or decorated shamrock shapes – just string the whole printed page together to create a flag garland for decoration. In this way, you can help younger as well as older children to have fun, crafting however they see fit for their skill level.

Consider Non-Traditional Colors

Finally, I wanted to offer a tip when it comes to holidays and how we tend to use the same colors for the occasions. It’s fine to use shades of green for St. Patrick’s Day celebrations and that would work perfectly for the shamrock decorations.

However, you can also get creative and change your color palette to pastels or earth tones or even rainbow colors! There’s really no rule that says your shamrock crafting has to be green-toned. So I really encourage you to explore and see if you can come up with some crafting projects in non-traditional colors. It can be a really fun activity for the moms, as we craft along with our kids, to create something a bit different and sophisticated.
