It’s time for summer grilling and one of the simplest things to grill is a deliciously marinated grilled chicken breast! Today, I’m sharing my recipe for the best grilled chicken marinade that will have you eating tasty chicken all summer long!

The best grilled chicken m

Amanda here from Old House to New Home, sharing a summer staple, a grilled chicken marinade. Grilled chicken is delicious but is made even better when soaked in a tasty marinade all day before cooking!

Raw chicken and a bowl of homemade marinade

Summertime is my favorite cooking “season” of the year. I love pasta salads, fresh veggies from the garden, and of course, grilled meat!

What type of chicken is best to grill?

You really can’t go wrong when it comes to your selection of chicken, but I prefer chicken breasts. If you like dark meat, go for chicken thighs, which definitely produce a juicier chicken.

How to Make The best grilled chicken marinade

Marinating chicken is so easy. I first place my chicken in a zip-top bag and pound it to an even width using a meat mallet. This step is optional but it ensures that your chicken will cook evenly! It also allows the marinade to soak in a little better.

Then, mix together your marinade ingredients and add them to your bag. Let sit in the fridge for at least 6 hours and then grill!

Note: If you do not have a grill or don’t want to grill, you can use the same marinade on baked or sautéed chicken!
