How to Make Your Very Own DIY Lavender Linen Spray
Lavender linen spray can be used on your bed pillow at night to help you sleep better. Just give a spritz or two on your bed pillow before going to bed. It can also be used to freshen up your linen or anywhere you’d like to add fresh scent or provide a relaxing aroma.
What you need:
Tools Needed:
- kitchen scale
- liquid measuring cup
- funnel
- 4 oz amber glass spray bottles
- labels and/or gift tags
- ribbon
- Avery 2″x2″ labels
ingredients:
Ingredients listed are for one 4 oz spray bottle. If making more than 4 oz of lavender linen spray, simply pour the ingredients into a glass measuring cup and then use a small funnel to pour into the glass spray bottles.
- 1 oz isopropyl alcohol, ethanol or grain alcohol 0.12 oz (approx. 20 drops)
- lavender essential oil
- 2.88 oz distilled water

Instructions:
For best results, use a kitchen scale to measure the ingredients. 25% of the whole formula should be comprised of alcohol and 75% distilled water. Subtract the percentage of essential oil you want to use from the water. By using percentages, you can make any size batch you want simply by using a little multiplication.
1. Combine isopropyl alcohol & lavender essential oil.
Remember that using exact measurements will produce the best results.
Using a kitchen scale, measure out 1 oz isopropyl alcohol. Pour the alcohol into a 4 oz glass spray bottle.
The alcohol solubilizes the essential oil so that it can be blended or diluted by the water without separating. As you know, water and oil don’t mix. Adding the alcohol fixes this problem and also serves as a preservative and disinfectant. (To the best of my understanding.)
Add 0.12 oz of lavender essential oil. Gently shake to combine. Allow to sit for 5 minutes to 1 hour. This will give the solubilizing process a chance to work its scientific magic.
2. Add distilled water
Add 2.88 oz of distilled water to the 4 oz glass spray bottle. Shake gently to combine. Affix lid to bottle.
Your DIY Lavender Linen Spray is ready to use! You can keep a bottle by your bedside, in your linen closet, in your car and even gift it to family and friends.
