When you’re not in the mood to set up a bonfire, bring your s’mores party indoors with this super delicious (and super easy!) s’mores cake.

Hello, hello! It’s Lisa here, straight from Fabulous Habits, and I’m so excited to be writing on Kenarry today.

When you're not in the mood to set up a campfire, bring your s'mores dessert party indoors with this super delicious (and super easy!) chocolate s'mores cake recipe from a box mix. #smores #dessert #kenarry

If you know me, you’ll totally know that I love baking. I’m in the kitchen, developing recipes of sweet dishes on a regular basis. My latest creation was these Conversation Hearts and boy, did my family love them!

When it comes to baking, I know how so many people despise using cake mixes.

I can totally understand. I myself try to go for scratch as often as possible.

But you know what? Sometimes, you just don’t have the time!

When we think of cake mixes, we think of bland, round cakes with store-bought frosting.

But I think we don’t give cake mixes enough of a chance. Today, I’m sharing how to elevate your boxed mix with my oh-so delicious S’mores Cake.

How to Make an Awesome S’mores Cake with a Cake Mix

Give your box of cake mix a chance: it deserves a s’mores makeover.

Kitchen Tools Needed:

  • 9×9 non-stick pan
  • Mixing bowls
  • Whisk

Ingredients Needed:

  • Chocolate cake mix + all the ingredients that are needed to make it (according to the mix’s directions)
  • 2 cups chocolate chips
  • 2-3 cups mini marshmallows

Instructions:

1. Graham cracker crust

Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F. In a medium-sized bowl, mix together graham crackers and melted butter.

Once well-combined, press the graham cracker mixture into your 9×9 pan and bake for 5 minutes.

2. Divide & Conquer!

What’s really great about this recipe is that you only need a portion of your cake mix.

Most cake mix boxes are 432g, which amounts to approximately 3 cups.

For this recipe, divide everything in 3, so you’ll only need 1 cup of cake mix and a third of all the required ingredients.

3. Pour it in!

Once you’ve made 1/3 of the cake batter, pour it directly on your newly-baked graham cracker crust. Place back in the oven and bake for about 1-2 minutes less of the suggested time on the cake mix’s box.

4. Toasty Marshmallows

Add a layer of chocolate chips on top of your cake and then top with mini marshmallows. Broil in the oven for 1 minute. Cut and serve!
