Popsicle Stick Craft: The Cutest DIY Coaster

Make your own DIY drink coasters. This popsicle stick craft is so simple that your kids can do it too! All you need are some sticks, glue, and washi tape.

Hi, everyone! Lisa reporting for yet another DIY and I’m so thrilled to show you my latest creation, a fun popsicle stick craft. You’re going to love these DIY coasters.

An easy popsicle stick craft tutorial to create your very own coasters!

If you’re like me and are always up for a DIY project, then you likely already have the supplies needed to create these popsicle stick coasters. Of course, I couldn’t help but give mine a pastel flair with some geometric patterns because, well, I’m a millennial like that!

How to Make Coasters with a Simple Popsicle Stick Craft

What’s great about this craft is that you can include the kiddos – they’ll have a blast making it with you!

What you need:

Craft/DIY Tools Needed:

  • Hot glue gun

Supplies Needed:

  • Standard size popsicle/craft wooden sticks
  • 1 roll of Washi tape

Instructions:

1. Line up 2 popsicle sticks vertically

To start, place two popsicle sticks next to each other, vertically.

2. Glue Another Stick on Horizontally

Place glue on the tip of both popsicle sticks then glue another one on top, horizontally.

3. Glue on More Sticks

Continue adding glue along your two original popsicle sticks, adding a horizontal one as you go.

4. Give it a Base

Flip over your coaster and glue on 4 more popsicle sticks, going lengthwise. You’ll want two in the center and two on the other side.

How to make a popsicle stick craft. Fifth step is to flip the coaster over upside down and create a base of perpendicular sticks glued on.

5. Add Decorative Washi Tape

Cut out pieces of your Washi tape and give it a fun pattern!
