With holiday entertaining right around the corner, it is time to round out your appetizer recipes! This easy Cranberry Crostini is the perfect Thanksgiving or Christmas appetizer recipe that only takes a few ingredients and a few minutes!
Hi everyone! Amanda here from Old House to New Home, sharing my first-holiday recipe of the season! I may be crazy ( my husband would agree, ha!) but once September hits, I switch to holiday season mode. I start thinking about Halloween costumes, Thanksgiving dinner, Christmas shopping lists, and of course Christmas cookie recipes!
I know it’s early, but I love to be prepared and try out any new recipes early so I can pick my favorites for later!
I love the idea of a simple crostini. It can be prepared ahead of time, usually takes minimal ingredients, and is always a crowd favorite! Everyone loves bread-based appetizers and crostini just looks great served on a platter!
A few years ago I made the most delicious Strawberry and Cream Cheese Crostini and served it all summer long. I wanted to make a winter version of that beloved appetizer, thus this Cranberry Crostini was born.
You can serve this appetizer for any occasion this fall and winter! While cranberry sauce is thought of as a Thanksgiving and Christmas food, the addition of lime and honey in this recipe adds brightness and makes it appropriate for any occasion.
If you love all things cranberry, try this Christmas cranberry whiskey cocktail too!
How to Make Cranberry Crostini
You won’t believe how simple this easy appetizer recipe is! The only cooking involves toasting the bread, so this makes it a great recipe for when you are short on time or kitchen skills!

- French Baguette

Cranberry Crostini Tips:
Use Good Bread
When a recipe uses only a few ingredients, you really want the ingredients to shine. Don’t skim and buy any old loaf of bread. Stop by your local bakery and grab a good baguette!
How to Make Ahead
This recipe only takes a few minutes to assemble and you don’t want to do it too far in advance or the bread will get soggy. If you want to preplan, you can slice your bread and put it in an airtight container up to a day in advance. You can also mix the honey butter mixture and refrigerate until needed. This will save you some time and make assembly even faster!
