This easy Parmesan Crusted Chicken is a melt in your mouth meal that will become your go-to weeknight chicken dinner recipe! With a tangy parmesan crust and tender juicy chicken, this recipe is one of the best!

Parmesan Crusted Chicken

Hello everyone! Amanda here from Old House to New Home sharing my family’s favorite chicken dinner recipe, Parmesan Crusted Chicken! But this isn’t your simple, ho hum, throw some parmesan cheese on top chicken! There is a secret ingredient that makes this recipe melt in your mouth delicious!

A plate of delicious parmesan crusted chicken

Last year I was searching for new ideas and recipes for chicken dinners. We have chicken a lot, as do most families, and it was just getting boring! I decided that I needed to mix it up and try something new and thus, this Parmesan Crusted Chicken was born! I have made chicken with a topping of parmesan cheese many times, but the binder here is what makes it special!

Parmesan Crusted Chicken

The secret sauce is a combination of sour cream and mayonnaise. You could also sub greek yogurt for the sour cream, too if you are looking for a protein-packed healthier option! Once you mix together the sour cream and mayonnaise, you add garlic powder and paprika which add tons of flavor and some color! Smear that on the chicken and then top with the parmesan cheese! You don’t want to use the powdered stuff here. Buy the freshly shredded parmesan cheese for best flavor and texture.

How to Make Parmesan Crusted Chicken

This chicken is so easy and only takes a few steps!

Supplies or Ingredients Needed:

  • Chicken tenders
  • sour cream (or Greek yogurt) and mayonnaise
  • salt and pepper
  • garlic powder
  • paprika
  • shredded parmesan cheese
  • herbs for garnish

Instructions:

1. Make the sauce

Mix together sour cream, mayonnaise, garlic powder, paprika, and half the parmesan cheese.

2. Top the chicken

Sprinkle salt and pepper on each chicken tender. Smear each top of chicken with sour cream mixture. Top with remaining parmesan cheese.

3. Bake the chicken

Place in the oven and bake 15 minutes, then broil.

That’s literally it! Mix, top, and bake!

What to Serve with Parmesan Crusted Chicken

This can be a low-carb option if you are trying to eat that way. If so, serve this with any of these healthier sides:

  • Chopped salad
  • Steamed broccoli
  • Roasted Cauliflower
  • Seared Green Beans
  • Sautéed Zucchini

Is this Keto-Friendly?

If you use a sugar-free mayo, this is keto-friendly! The cheese and sour cream are low carb. They are sources of fats. So if you are trying to lose weight, make sure you monitor how much fat you take in throughout the day.
