Hello! Michelle from Our Crafty Mom sharing a super simple, but yummy, spiked rum eggnog recipe. I’m all about making easy recipes that don’t require a ton of ingredients to make. You want to enjoy friends and family and not spend all your time in the kitchen. With this spiked eggnog, you can enjoy a classic eggnog with a bit of a kick!
The great thing about this recipe, aside from how simple it is to make, is you can use different flavors of eggnog depending on your taste. I went with vanilla eggnog, but I’m on the hunt for sugar cookie as I bet that would be amazing!

- Eggnog – I kept it simple with store-bought vanilla eggnog
- Spiced Rum – I used Captain Morgan
- Cinnamon Sticks
Spiked Rum Eggnog Recipe Tips:
Use Your Favorite Brand Rum
While I chose to use spiced rum, be sure to use your favorite flavor and brand of rum. Experiment with different flavors, like vanilla, banana, or even a coffee flavored rum.
Blend this with a flavored eggnog that will compliment the rum. For example, I’m planning on trying banana rum with vanilla eggnog. Doesn’t that sound so good?
This recipe makes one serving. I used a lowball glass. Just pour the eggnog into the glass, add a shot of rum and top with a dash of cinnamon and nutmeg. I’ve been having trouble finding cinnamon sticks at my local shop, so I didn’t include that. But, for a party it makes a nice, festive touch.
Be sure to stir the eggnog and rum drink well, as sometimes the rum will float on top due to the thickness of the eggnog. A brisk stir and you will be good to go.
Prepare the Spiked Eggnog Ahead of Time
I’m happy to tell you that you can absolutely make a pitcher of this cocktail ahead of time for a party! This will save so much time, so you can just pour and serve. Simply make a whole pitcher by using a gallon of eggnog and 3 1/2 cups of rum. Add spices to taste. Serve chilled.

Spiced Rum Eggnog Recipe
- shot glass
- 7 oz Vanilla Eggnog
- 1.5 oz Spiced Rum
- Dash of Cinnamon
- Dash of Nutmeg
- Pour eggnog into a lowball glass. Add rum. Mix well.
- Top with cinnamon and nutmeg.
- Add a cinnamon stick for a festive touch.
