Tips on Using Printable Valentine Bookmarks

When it comes to digital printables, the beauty is the ability to print whatever you need, when you need it and as many copies as you like. So whether you want a themed bookmark for yourself or for gift giving, this free printable download will be perfect!

Download, Print, and trim

For the quickest DIY, download these free printable valentine bookmarks to print, trim and use immediately. Personally, I prefer to print on cardstock paper that is a bit thicker than regular printer paper and also with the highest quality possible in my printer settings. That will ensure you have the best quality print possible. Alternatively, you can also send the file to your local printer for printing.

If you don’t have cardstock, you can also reinforce your bookmarks by gluing them onto some cardboard or other papers you have. In fact, if you don’t want the back of your bookmark to be blank, you can also glue decorative paper onto the back side. This will help make the bookmark last longer as well.

Laminate for Durability

Also, if you want your bookmark to stand the test of time, consider laminating! If you don’t have a laminator, you can also use clear packing tape to cover both the front and back sides to add protection. This will help to reinforce your paper bookmarks, so they last as long as possible.

Another great idea is to round the corners of your bookmarks if you don’t want pointy edges. If you don’t have special tools, you can simply put a coin on the edge of the bookmark and use it as a guide to trim your bookmarks manually with scissors.

Ideas for Gift Giving

Finally, consider customizing and finishing the bookmark to make it even prettier for gift giving. In just a few minutes, you can use a hole puncher to make a hole at the top of the bookmark to string through some yarn and create a tassel. This really makes your printable bookmark design look like a finished product! I’ve also created yarn pom poms to add as well. Customizing bookmarks in this manner can be a fun activity with your kids or at a book club meeting.

This Valentine holiday, consider giving a book as a gift to encourage more reading. You can create a bookmark especially for the recipient and even write a message on the back to customize it.
