Welcome back! Lisa here, from the Sugar Agenda food blog and I am incredibly excited to share my homemade recipe for Double Chocolate Blondies.
Blondies don’t get as much credit as they deserve! I was always one for all-things-chocolate, then a few years ago, I tried my first blondie and BOOM! It was a total game-changer for me. Of course, I can never say “no” to a classic brownie, but the blondie sure does hold a special place in my heart!
What I love about blondies is that they make a great base for different flavors and fillings. Today, I’m going to show you how to make my Double Chocolate Blondies. They’re filled with both white and milk chocolate chips! I really mean it when I say: I did not skimp out on the chocolate-y goodness for this recipe!

homemade double chocolate blondies Tips
what is a blondie?
Let’s get back to basics, shall we? Why proceed in making a blondie when you don’t even know what it is!
A blondie is a dessert bar, and most commonly known as the opposite of a classic chocolate brownie.
Blondies use vanilla and brown sugar as its main flavor base, giving it its beautiful golden color.
What do blondies taste like?
Imagine buttery goodness with notes of sweet caramel: this is exactly what a blondie tastes like! Its flavor profile is delicious but not too intense, which makes it the perfect base for additional toppings and fillings.
line your baking pan
When you read the recipe card below, you’ll see that the instructions recommend using a parchment paper overhang. This means that your parchment paper will go beyond all four walls of your baking pan.
For recipes like blondies, brownies, cookie bars, etc., having a parchment overhang makes removing the dessert from its pan a lot easier. The overhang serves as “handles,” and you can slowly pull the dessert out without damaging it.

- ½ tsp baking soda
- ¼ tsp salt
- 2 cups all-purpose flour

- Next, add egg and vanilla and mix some more.
- Add dry ingredients to the butter and sugar mixture and mix until batter forms.
- Add both chocolate chips and fold it into the batter.
- Evenly pour the batter into the lined pan. Bake for 18 to 20 minutes or until the blondies pass the toothpick test (ie.: insert a toothpick into the center of the blondies, and if it comes out clean, then it is ready).
