glass cutting board tips:
separate the napkin layers
You only need to use the top layer of the napkin. Separate the layers carefully removing the printed layer.
add mod podge directly to the glass
When working with napkins and mod podge, the napkins are very fragile, especially because you are only using the top layer, so it’s important to be very gentle when adhering them to the glass.
Place the napkin on the bottom of the glass cutting board. That way you can use the cutting board top without worrying about damage to the napkin, and you can still see the pretty lemon design.
It’s best to add the mod podge directly to the glass and lightly tap the napkin onto the cutting board.
use plastic to smooth out wrinkles
A great tip I learned recently, was to use either plastic wrap, or a plastic bag to smooth out the wrinkles. Not only does the plastic work great, but it is less likely to cause tears in the napkin than using your fingers.
Continue to smooth the wrinkles out carefully with a plastic bag. You will be surprised at how well this process works. Let it dry.
Now you want to go back and add a top coat of mod podge to the top of the napkin for a little extra protection.
All that’s left now is to trim any napkin from the sides of the glass. You can use a little piece of sandpaper to clean it up too.
